Parag Gad is a biomedical engineer and entrepreneur with over 17 years of experience in research and product development. He earned his Bachelor of Engineering degree in Biomedical Engineering from Mumbai University in 2008. Subsequently, he moved to the United States to pursue graduate studies at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA), where he obtained both his master’s and PhD degrees, specializing in NeuroEngineering. During his tenure at UCLA, Gad contributed significantly to the field of neurophysiology, co-authoring over 80 scientific papers and holding more than ten patents. His research primarily focused on spinal neuromodulation and its applications in treating neurological conditions.

In 2018, Gad co-founded SpineX Inc., a clinical-stage bioelectric medtech startup, where he serves as the founding Chief Executive Officer. The company is dedicated to developing non-invasive, non-surgical devices that improve neurological conditions, thereby enhancing the quality of life for individuals with spinal cord injuries, stroke, and cerebral palsy. Notably, SpineX’s flagship product, SCiP, has received two unique Breakthrough Device Designations from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA).
